In the course of a public appearance to Lichfield Cathedral on the start of the week, King Charles was shouted at by a man who questioned him about his brother's links with disgraced financier Epstein.

The man asked how long the King had been aware about his sibling's relationship with Epstein, and also questioned whether he had asked the police to "hide" for Andrew.

Despite the protest, there were large groups of fans and applause for the King, who was visiting the region for an engagement.

Prince Andrew's associations with Jeffrey Epstein have been under close examination in the past few weeks. The prince, who relinquished his titles earlier this month, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

"How long have you been aware about Prince Andrew and Epstein? Have you asked the authorities to cover up for Andrew?"

The monarch ignored the questions but carried on meeting supporters, some of whom chanted "Long live the King". One supporter can be overheard requesting him for a embrace.

Another woman outside the venue was also observed telling the protester to "leave" and to "shut up".

Controversy Revived by Memoir

The scandal over the Duke of York's links to Jeffrey Epstein has been reignited by misconduct claims repeated in Virginia Giuffre's recently released book.

In the memoir, the accuser alleges she had sexual encounters with the royal on three separate occasions, including once with Epstein and "eight other young girls"

Andrew, who agreed to a out-of-court agreement with the plaintiff in 2022, has consistently denied any misconduct. In 2019, he told a news program he did not remember meeting her "ever", and that they "never had any sort of sexual contact."

New Inquiries Over Finances and Housing

But in recent times, fresh questions have been asked about how he is able to finance his way of life despite not being a working royal.

The revelation that he has only ever paid a token annual rent on his Royal Lodge has intensified the scrutiny over his housing situation - even though he made large payments initially, including for improvements.

The Liberal Democrats said he should be summoned before members of parliament to give testimony about his rental agreement of his lodge.

But last Thursday, the authorities refused to give MPs time to discuss the prince's titles or his residence, despite growing pressure for scrutiny.

Buckingham Palace has not issued a statement on whether the Duke of York might move out of his current residence - or where he might go.
