It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a major tournament.
